Into Space
This lesson plan saw us blast off into space practising open safety rotations in the water. This is great for working on body position. There was a meteor shower where the children on their woggles tried to avoid the balls in the pool, lots of kicking and scooping of the water. We balanced on kickboards engaging tummy muscles – back star floating and space shuttle rides were all super fun!
Down In the Jungle
We started off this lesson on our backs, floating down the jungle river. Working on relaxing in the water in order for our bodies to float. We saw lots of jungle animals to include arms like tigers, reaching and pulling the water and snakes stretching out our bodies.. Tigers were seen jumping into the pool with a big ROAR!
Assessment Week
This week we ran a skills assessment week for our parent and child classes in Gladwins, Chelmsford, Lexden & Stanway. Our parent and child class swimmers had the opportunity to achieve a skills award certificate and badge.
Halloween
In this lesson plan our spooky swimmers were taking broomstick rides around the pool, we collected lots of scary objects for the witches to brew and practised our bubbles in the water by blowing eyeballs.. Gross but lots of fun!
Everybody worked very hard this month and we look forward to seeing your progression in November

Academy Swimmers
Our Academy swimmers have been working hard on their breaststroke and front swimming, paddle and crawl Sea Turtle swimmers worked on their front and back paddle body position and their legs. We practised with sinkers in the water and push and glides. Our Advanced Sea Turtles were introduced to competitive push and glides, they worked on breaststroke arms then legs. Sealions, Dolphin and Whale classes worked also on their competitive starts and their body positions and we saw some super butterfly swimming!
Should you wish to purchase one, the slips, envelopes and buckets will be poolside for a couple of weeks. Alternatively, pop into the Stanway pool anytime.
The cost of the certificate & badge inc postage is £5.20
(If you wish to purchase the certificate only this is £1.20)
Please bring cash.
If you swim at the Stanway pool you can purchase this on your way out and not pay the postage (£3,70)

I am a swimming assistant here at Mini Swimming.
I have always loved helping children progress in something that they enjoy and encourage them to do the best that they can!
I believe that swimming is an important life skill that every child should be able to do, so to help children at Mini Swimming learn how to swim makes me very proud.
Mini Swimming expresses how fun and enjoyable swimming is which I love, as the kids here love swimming as much as I do myself! I used to swim for Colchester and swim at regional and county level and have loved to swim all my life, so I always love to see the children looking forward to swim and their next lesson![/et_pb_text][et_pb_button button_url=”@ET-DC@eyJkeW5hbWljIjp0cnVlLCJjb250ZW50IjoicG9zdF9saW5rX3VybF90ZWFjaGluZ190ZWFtIiwic2V0dGluZ3MiOnsicG9zdF9pZCI6IjUyOTcxIn19@” button_text=”See Mia’s profile” button_alignment=”left” _builder_version=”4.18.0″ _dynamic_attributes=”button_url” _module_preset=”default” custom_button=”on” button_bg_color=”#F05B85″ button_border_width=”0px” button_use_icon=”off” custom_margin=”40px||||false|false” custom_padding=”10px|30px|10px|30px|true|true” locked=”off” global_colors_info=”{}”][/et_pb_button][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row column_structure=”1_2,1_2″ _builder_version=”4.16″ _module_preset=”default” min_height=”49.6px” custom_padding=”||1px|||” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”1_2″ _builder_version=”4.16″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.17.4″ _module_preset=”default” header_2_font=”|800|||||||” header_2_text_color=”#F05B85″ header_4_text_align=”left” header_4_font_size=”36px” text_orientation=”justified” custom_margin=”||||false|false” custom_padding=”||21px|||” header_2_font_size_tablet=”” header_2_font_size_phone=”30px” header_2_font_size_last_edited=”on|phone” global_colors_info=”{}”]

Baby Bonding and Introduction to swimming course
Our next course is starting on the 3rd November
This will be a six week course specifically tailored to our tiniest swimmers aged 6 weeks to 4 months. The class is all about a gentle and calm introduction to baby swimming full of lots of special activities just for our tiny ones and it will be a beautiful bonding experience. Taught by our most experienced teachers we will have only 5 spaces per class and everyone will start together. At the end of the classes the babies will move into a starfish class either with their new mummy friends or separately, whichever they prefer.

First baby swim
We loved welcoming Henry, Martha. Lilty, George, Abert, Hugh and Lottie to Mini Swimming. They each enjoyed a private swim to start and are now booked into group classes. If you have a little one due or recently born we would love to welcome you.

Hall of Fame
At Mini Swimming we love to recognise brilliance. Our Hall of Fame is dedicated to our Swimmers of the Week, Highlights of the Week and Teacher Awards. If your child has had an award, we would love it if you can share their photo with their certificate with us so we can add them to the hall of fame. You can see it here.
Here are a few of our fabulous swimmers…
