We are trying to keep busy here at Mini Swimming. Please find below a list of all events we had/have ongoing ourselves and those that we take part in.

If you'd like us to be at your event, please contact our  Marketing Department.

10th December 2014 - 'Wear your Bobble Hat to Work' Day in aid of the NSPCC

On Wednesday, 10th December 2014, we invited all our swimmers (and teachers!) to attend their swimming lessons wearing their most fun, festive or plain ridiculous bobble hat. We are delighted to report that our fundraising day raised a respectable £80, which has been matched by Mini Swimming to make a grand total of £160, which has been donated to the NSPCC.

A huge Thank You to all that took part and raised money for such a worthwhile cause - you are all great sports!

If you'd like to find out more about the invaluable work the NSPCC do every day or if you wish to donate, please visit their website

27th March 2015 - 'Silly Sock' Day in aid of Autism Anglia

On Friday, 27th March 2015, we held 'Silly Sock' Day at our pools, which went down a storm with our swimmers. We had a fab and fun day in aid of local charity Autism Anglia and are over the moon to announce we raised a whopping £240.98, which meant that after having the amount matched by Mini Swimming, we were able to donate a total of £481.96 to this very worthwhile cause. A massive Thank You to all our swimmers for their enthusiasm and generosity! Our fundraising day even got featured in the local paper, the picture at the top of this page shows some of the children and teacher Tiffany posing for the photographer. Let's just say, the poor man got rather wet as feet clad in silly, soggy socks seem to splash even better than bare ones!

Autism is a developmental condition that can affect people in many different ways - in the UK up to 1 in every 100 people are thought to suffer some form of it. Several of our lovely swimmers and their families (as well as one of our lovely teachers) have got first hand experience of everyday life with the challenges it brings with it.

Autism Anglia work tirelessly to raise awareness and support people living with autism and we have chosen them as our 'charity of the term', so please help us help them continue their amazing work. You can find out more about the charity here:

NB: We are doing it all again, this time for a whole week, please see our article on 'Silly Sock Week 2016'.

9th July 2015 - NCT Colchester Cheeky Monkeys Tea Party

This annual event is always very well organised by the lovely ladies from our local NCT. A great day out was had, people brought picnics and blankets and enjoyed the entertainment and raffle.

We have been working closely with the local NCT for some time and are proud to count many NCT parents amongst our swimmers. Did you know that we offer a 20% discount off your first term if you are an NCT member?

We met many of our existing swimmers at the event, it's always love to see you. We hope you liked the Mini Swimming cupcakes! For mor info on the NCT and the great work they do, both locally and nationwide, please visit .

1st August 2015 - Chelmsford Children's Centres, Summer Fete

A lovely event held on a beautiful day. Our teacher Georgie took this opportunity to introduce her four month old baby boy Stanley to the world of promoting Mini Swimming as he came along. We are told he behaved himself impeccably!

Here they both are, flying the Mini Swimming flag.

Check out more info on the Chelmsford Children's Centres on their Facebook page

15th August 2015 - Walton-On-The-Naze Carnival

On Saturday the 15th of August 2015 we had a stand at the annual Walton-On-The-Naze Carnival and Kirsty and Gunni enjoyed meeting with existing and potential swimmers. This fun event tied in perfectly with the launch of our beautiful new Frinton pool, which opens its doors in September.

Lots of people grabbed a Mini Swimming balloon for their little ones. We were even lucky with the weather!

17th September 2015 - Pregnancy and Baby Information Evening

The Pregnancy and Baby Information Evening in the antenatal clinic at Colchester General Hospital on September the 17th from 7pm to 9pm was the first of its kind in Colchester. It proved a great event and was well attended. It answered many questions expectant or young parents have with various experts on hand who gave out information on antenatal and postnatal care, pregnancy and baby massage, baby groups and much more. There were also tours of the facilities on offer, which many visitors took up.

Gunni was pleased speak to many expectant Mums and Dads about baby swimming and met some very young babies, some of whom have already booked in to swim with us since the event!

The organisers raised money for Colchester Neonatal Unit on the night, so the whole event was for a good cause as well. A huge Thank You to Sarah Sexton from iMassage for organising the evening!

2nd and 3rd October 2015 - National Franchise Exhibition

We were very excited to be exhibiting at the National Franchise Exhibitionin in Birmingham for the first time this year. The event, held at the NEC, brought together franchise owners like ourselves and individuals looking for a franchise opportunity. We met lots of people who are as passionate about working with babies and children as we are and who were seeking a ready-made business model that can fit around their lifestyle.

Should you wish to find out more about the Mini Swimming franchise model, please visit our dedicated franchise page.

17th October 2015 - NCT Colchester Nearly New Sale

One of the largest in the country, the Colchester NCT branch holds a twice yearly nearly new sale at the Charter Hall, Cowdray Avenue. Find quality used maternity clothing as well as baby and children's clothes, toys, book, games and other equipment at this brilliantly organised event. We always have a stall and enjoy meeting new and existing swimmers.

We have been working closely with the local NCT for some time and are proud to count many NCT parents amongst our swimmers. Did you know that we offer a 20% discount off your first term if you are an NCT member?

29th November 2015 - The Essex Baby Show

This was the second time we were exhibiting at the 'best baby and toddler show in Essex'. The show was held at the Riverside Ice & Leisure Centre in Chelmsford and offered advice on services and products surrounding pregnancy, birth and parenting. Just in time for Christmas, we had our gift vouchers ready to purchase and some great exclusive offers to visitors of the show.

19th & 20th February 2016 - The Franchise Show

We had a great time at this event, held at ExCel in London. The show is specifically designed to attract potential franchisees and we met a variety of people who all had chance to meet the team, learn more about the company and find out whether a Mini Swimming franchise could be for them. Now busy with the follow up, we hope that the show has helped to extend our growing franchisee network, watch this space.

If you are interested in finding out more about our franchise model, please visit our franchise page where you can find more information and all the contact details you need.

21st to 27th March 2016 - 'Silly Sock Week' in aid of Autism Anglia

Once again, Autism Anglia were our chosen charity of the term - silly sock day was way too much fun last year not to repeat! In fact, we were given special permission to turn the event into 'Silly Sock Week' this year, so that none of our swimmers missed out. grin

And what can we say but a huge THANK YOU to all our kind and generous swimmers: you totally smashed last year's amount raised! You raised an incredible £463.53, which once again has been matched pound for pound, penny for penny by Mini Swimming, so we are in a position to donate an amazing £927.06 to Autism Anglia, how fabulous, well done!!

We had so much fun and it was totally worth getting your silly socks soggy in aid of this wonderful charity that works tirelessly to transform lives in this region!

For more info on last year's event, which even saw us featured in the local paper, please see the article about 'Silly Sock Day 2015' above.

This only leaves us with one thing to say: roll on Silly Sock Week 2017, when we are hoping to do better still and are aiming for a four figure sum!
